What are you made of?

The parable of the potato, egg and coffee bean.
The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg.
It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.
When adversity knocks at your door, how do you respond?

Are you a potato, an egg or a coffee bean?

This parable was shared by the Washington State Paralegal Association President (thank you, Misty!) at one of our recent board meetings. It resonated with me deeply enough for me to write it down in my notebook so that I’d reflect on it later. Fast forward to our current worldwide health crisis and I feel now is the perfect time to reflect on this. I created a quick slideshow of the story so that you can read on your own.

What do you think of this story and how it applies currently?

Have you heard this story before?
If so, was your answer the same then as it is now?

How are you coping with the adversity we’re currently facing?

I launched a virtual meeting space this past week and have successfully held two events now. It’s been such a blessing to connect with others during isolation! I’ve been surprised at how much incentive virtual meeting space with my friends/family/colleagues changes my whole mood and tude for the day.

Want to get in on the connection?
