Self-Care and Wellness in the Legal Industry

Yes, you read that right… self-care and WELLNESS in the legal industry. It does and can exist! Although I must say, it does take commitment, accountability and belief in one’s own value. Things which are all too often pushed to the wayside in any profession when it comes to self-care and personal wellness. From over 18 years of experience in the legal industry I’ve learned how to set boundaries and enable a working environment that works best for ME.

And now bam, we have a pandemic!?! It’s hard to believe we survived 2020?!? It was a year full of ups, downs, loop-da-loops and utter craze! One thing that aided in my survival during the chaos was making space for ME. Every day! Yes, that may look different on any given day, but hey isn’t that what life is all about?!

I was blessed with the honor of writing for NALA about some tips and tricks I’ve developed over the years in the legal industry to ensure my wellness. This article was by far my favorite one to write yet!

It also reminded me how necessary self-care really is despite the “selfish” nature of the practice. Even more necessary now than ever before!
